Making notes in the camera?

I have a 7rIII and would like to make some fast notes, like filter used, tripod/no tripod, type of manual lenses used, ect, when I make/made the shot directly. Making notes separately on a paper is not an option. Anybody has a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hi imreh3,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can track down an answer. Maybe someone else in the community has an idea in the meantime.

Thanks,

Pascale

If you always have your phone on you, there are pretty good note-taking apps nowadays, and you can probably set up some mini-templates, for example:

Tripod:

Filter:

Shooting mode:

ISO:

Lens:

And just copy-paste it and fill in according to what you're using, this should save you a ton of time and space, also way more convenient than a pen and paper.

Some apps also offer quality of life features, Evernote comes to mind with its Notebook organization, it's not the best app out there, but you can do much worse.

Hope this helps.

Yes, well, maybe this is the only solution? I would like to make notes about thinkgs that are not present in the EXIF and IPTC data. When I look the Metadata, there is a reasonable amount of data, but far from everything, I would like to know metering(spot, average, center....), used filters, over or underexposed(how many steps).... There is an intensity value, but what does it show?

Best regs to everybody:

I believe this very well may be the only solution in this case. I've given it some thought over the weekend and I couldn't come with a better solution, I thought of maybe some 3rd-party software package but those are always too unreliable not to mention inconvenient since they're mostly PC oriented which means extra weight and not enough positives to make it worth it.
