I have a DCR-SR290E which has its own built in microphone. Is it possible to use an external microphone? And where does it plug in? I suspect it plugs into the REMOTE jack socket.
This model has whats called an "active interface shoe" that allows you to use the camcorders optional lights and microphones with the camcorder. Details sould be in the intructions (page 16).
