hdr-cx240e help

Good morning all a little help needed.

Bought myself a HDR-cx240e a month or two ago, and finally got to use it this weekend.

After reviewing my footage I noticed it was a little fuzzy and far from full HD. Realised I hadn't put it into its best shooting mode, My fault indeed.

But after trying all the different modes, I cannot get it any higher than 720p!

Am I being a complete and utter numpty?

ANy helo greatfukky recieved.

Cheers

Hi @catmandoza, welcome to the Community.

I'm not sure why you would only be able to shoot at 720p – have a check of the user manual – but you can certainly improve your image quality by shooting in bright conditions. The less light you have, the more the camera will attempt to amplify the signal, which degrades quality.

A similar thing happens when you zoom in, as the light available to the camera sensor diminishes. You are also much more likely to have shaky, fuzzy images this way, so consider using a tripod with zoomed-in footage.

Hope that's of some help. It does take a little time to get used to these things!

Cheers

Did you use the HDMI connection? Maybe you set the 720p?

Hello @catmandoza,

you need to select 50p to shoot in 1920x1080 (1080p) quality.

I suspect you currently set the framerate to 25fps.
