Hello 4thdan137 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

First of all, to connect your camera to a computer, you will need to use a USB lead that is compatible with the SR32. If in doubt, Amazon have some of these for sale and you can locate them by visiting Amazon.co.uk and searching for 'SR32 USB.'

As far as I am aware, you would need to record video on the camera and then transfer it over to a PC/laptop once you have finished filming. Depending upon your laptop, you could try connecting the camera and then seeing if it shows up as a webcam - this would give you an element of 'Live View' but this does not work all the time.

There are a wide variety of packages available for importing and editing video. A free option would be Windows Live Movie Maker, but others are available.

Thanks,

Simon

It looks like the SR32E doesn't support video streaming, so the only way to montor the recording is with the camera's built-in screen.

Editing while you're recording usually requires a video editing suite of some kind. Any camera on its own will have to have recording stopped before rewinding.

You can get PC software which will allow you to 'action replay' an event while the camera is still recording, but you will need a camera capable of USB streaming to do it

Cheers
