What does c:31:40 mean on my DCR-TRV950e

Camera won't work and beeps when I switch it on. Then it shows c:31:40 in the display. Please can anyone help? Thanks.

I think the error code means internal dampness or condensation.

I know this sounds stupid but ....................

a significant number of users with the same problem claim that turning the camcorder over and giving it a good slapping on the bottom works wonders.  Kinky!!!
