We announced a whole new line-up of Blu-Ray players while in Las Vegas for CES, and they’re sleeker and smarter than ever before.
The BDP-S1500, BDP-S4500 and BDP-S5500 all boast a ton of new, intuitive features that will make watching all sorts of content more enjoyable than ever. As well as your Blu-Ray and DVD collection, you can access a wealth of online streaming services such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Amazon Prime, and tonnes of music, movies and entertainment via the Sony Entertainment Network. And with the S5500 model you can enjoy all of this with advanced super Wi-Fi with upgraded Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) technology.
A new Super Quick Start mode means that booting up one of these Blu-Ray players takes less than a second, while disc-loading and accessing online services is quicker than ever before, too. A brand new user interface offers a truly enjoyable experience, and you can even personalise the layout so you can find all your favourite apps and services in one place.
Not only will your Blu-Rays look incredibly rich, detailed and alive, but each of these players supports a huge range of codecs, so you’ll have no problem playing almost any kind of content through them. And If you fancy watching something in 3D - even if the content is 2D - just wear the 3D glasses that were supplied with your TV and let the 3D simulator work its magic.
With the S5500 you can also take advantage of screen mirroring, which allows you to quickly move content from your smartphone or tablet onto the big screen. Meanwhile, all three of these players support our TV SideView app, which allows you to control the player from your Android device as well as access loads of information about whatever it is you’re watching.
