Bluetooth Turntable PS-LX310BT

Bluetooth Turntable PS-LX310BT

My new, three week old, Sony PS-LX310BT Bluetooth turntable is playing too fast at 34.11 rpm. It should of course only be 33.3rpm. I know it doesn’t look like much but there is a noticeable difference in sound, particularly vocals and Phil Collins now sounds a bit like a chipmunk! It wasn’t doing this until today.  Is there a solution please? Thanks.....

Hi Driver2616

Have tried using the speed ***** to adjust the RPM?

Hi,

Have you checked if the belt is twisted? The extra tension of a twist may cause the extra speed.

Hello, i am having a similar problem, i bought the turntable in september and it had been fine, but over the last month the turntable sometimes plays faster than it should, enough to change the tone of the vocals. On off switches also don't always work.  I've just finished packing it up to return to the service department tomorrow. Hope they can sort it quickly

Hey, sorry to hear this, which model do you have? Did you try any steps before sending it?

Hi , I checked the drive belt was ok, not twisted or slack, its only 4 months old so it should be OK. The start and stop switches just don't work every time. The turntable was sent back to Bridgend this morning by royal mail using the freepost label provided.

Just received mine, and speed in excess of 33.3rpm.  Sound good, but want this sorted please.  The speed adjustment from 33 to 45 is not the issue here.

Is the size also set correctly? (7 "EP" vs 12 "LP")

The speed adjustment on top is just the nominal selection for 33 1/3 or 45.  The slight adjustment to bring it accurate is what is needed.  Ive got the same issue and the adjustment is fairly easy.

First download an App for your phone and follow the instructions to measure the RPM (without a record on the platter and make sure the stylus remains up) or use a strobe.

Underneath the turntable there should be two holes marked 33 and 45 with a screw adjustment in each.  Using a small flat-bladed screw driver make small adjustment and put the turntable back down.  Re-measure using the app or strobe and repeat until within about 0.2rpm of the the nominal (45 or 33 1/3 (33.33))
