PS-LX310-BT

Hello, i am having a  problem with my PS-LX310 BT.  I bought the turntable in september and it had been fine, but over the last month the turntable sometimes plays faster than it should, enough to change the tone of the vocals. On off switches also don't always work.  I've just finished packing it up to return to the service department tomorrow. Hope they can sort it quickly

Hi davmcn, I would say try the troubleshooting steps on the manual: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4748/54031a965b2a74816d8a777cbcedf263/47487553M... and try different vinyls.

I followed all the instructions and advice in the manual,  I also tried a range of different vinyls, some old favourites and some new purchases. They all had the same problem, the play speed was not right.

Did you try changing the size and speed using the switches/knobs?

I tried playing a 45 single then switched back to 33rpm for an LP. Same problem.  The unit is now back with sony for repair.

Thanks for the clarification!

It would also be really helpful if you could update the thread once you have it back with a description of the issue from the Sony engineers.

Hello, I said I would post an update once the service people had looked at the turntable. Not good news i'm afraid, it's not repairable. Fair play to Sony, they will send me a full refund , but it is disappointing, I am now looking for a new turntable, with Bluetooth, I don't want to buy the same model again.

@davmcn

That's such a bummer as I've only ever seen positive things about this turntable.

I do hope you find one that suits you better though.

PS: be sure to mark the thread as solved since it ended (even though the solution is not all that positive unfortunately).
