Sony MHC V 42D problem with CD reading

Hi,

I have just bought Sony MHC V 42 D audio system. The problem occurs when CD is inserted in CD player  - I always get info No CD after reading. I tried some original CDs and lot of different CD copies it is always the same.  Please help what more I can do, what the problem may be about ? Thanks in advance.
