HOW DO I GET SYSTEM MENU BACK ON MY SONY DVD RECORDOR AFTER A POWER CUT

I have a SONY KDLV26AR television connected to a SONY dvdrecordor/player and after a power cut i cannot get SYSTEM MENU to come back onto the DVD player.The DVD player has power to all the right points but i cannot get system menu back,so i cannot record or play a dvd.

May you specify which recorder model do you have and how it is connected to your television? How do you know that the recorder has powered on correctly: what is displayed on the front panel?

One option that you may try, in case you have it connected via HDMI (at least on the RDR-HXD series), is to reset the display resolution by pressing the stop button + open/close tray or reset completely the recorder by pressing power-off + stop on the deck
