Region Free Question DVP-SR150

Hi

I have just replaced my Philips DVD player with the Sony DVP-SR150. I decided on the Sony as I have 3 Vaios - a netbook, desktop and laptop which I have been very pleased with.

I have had 3 previous DVD players - Philips & Pioneer and they all played DVD's regardless of region.

After purchasing this player I find it will play only region 2's which is vewry dissappointing as I had not given it a second thought.

Is there any way to make this model 'Region Free' as it does not seem to be a problem with most machines.

to tell you the truth posting on here will not promp a response from Sony!, where did you buy it?, they are available on Amazon for under £40, to send your one away now to have it done would cost more, there may be a remote hack available for this, try googling for it or check E-bay
