Bravia KDL-40WD653 Sound find but screen keeps going black.

Can anyone help please.   

TV is 13 months old and has been fine until a week ago.  Sound as normal but screen went black for a couple of seconds, picture came back on for about ten minutes then went black and stayed that way.  Next day did the same.  I have downloaded software updates, installed on TV and picture returned for about an hour.   Now it is alternating between picture (for a few seconds or minutes) then a black screen again.

I would be grateful for any help.

Hi QMVVPeeP,

 

Have you tried to reset the TV to Factory settings from Home - Settings - Customer support - Factory settings?

Does this happen on all inputs? If you use the apps in the TV, will the same issue happen?

Hi Almou,

Really sorry I didn't reply.  TV still not working a friend took over as I am out of touch with technology and don't understand the terminology.  He has been in touch and tried all the suggestions.  As it stands I have a TV that is 13 months old and can't be used.

If it's not working I guess it will need to get inspected by a service centre. You can reach to Sony support directly and maybe check the warranty options especially that the TV is 13 months old.
