Bravia TV Sound output Problem

Hi to you all,

I have a Sony LCD TV  KDL-37EX503 with a didital audio output socket on the rear (optical) which is connected to my audio system, I have a SKY + box conected via a SCART lead, and a Humax HDR  box connected via a HDMI lead, when I select each in put in turn I was expecting the audio output to change to the corresponding input but it don't has any body have a clue what is wrong?

Hi,

nothing is wrong, it just dont work that way, your best bet is to connect the sky box with the optical connection, also depending on your audio system you may be able to connect further optical inputs from other connected devices for example a blu ray player.

Thank for your speedy reply,the way you sugested is how I had the system wired in the first place and changed it because every time I change input I have to use the sound remote to change the input on the audio amp,which is a pain, why have a sound output if it don't follow the display.

My next question is there a way around the problem.
