Can't get access to sony internet content through my tv

Hi there,

Hoping someone can help.

I have a Sony 40" LCD TV model KDL 40EX503.

I have been unable to view the sony internet content since purchasing the product. When I check network settings everything is all ok but when I try to connent to internet video content I get errors.

Main error code I have had is 2152 but have also had error code 2123.

I've restored factory settings on the TV to see if that works and no luck and both my computers work through the interent with no problems. I have good internet connection (8mb download and checked).

Please help, not sure what to do next????

Hmm - I'd reach out to the call centre on this one. I don't know what the error codes mean off the top of my head I'm afraid.

How are you connecting the TV to tinterweb?

Hi Jono

Have you tried to update internet content? After a firmware upgrade  there is a widget which my appear in the photo, music or video parts of  the XMB. If not go to.

Settings> Network>Refresh Internet Content.

2123 is a internel network speed issue, this is a configuration or security problem in the network, can only advise you try disabling all router security and try again.   Never seen 2152, could ou advise how you get this message and possible supply an image.

I have been on google all Christmas Day evening and Boxing Day morning 'til I found the advice on a forum to restart the tv. You point the controller at the tv with finger pressing up arrow then switch off tv. Release finger and the tv switches back on. Before doing this make sure you have your pin number and know how you connect to internet. I found that after entering my password to my netbox the next screen repeated the request when I only needed to press arrow right. The on screen arrows were very faint. With incredible patience, perseverance, (& with help from my son on the phone to arrow right) I succeeded to reset my tv and get back on the internet. I only hope it never happens again as I find it all very difficult and stressful. I was looking forward to a peaceful retirement but these things are still sent to try us! It seems to be a shared problem and a 'problem shared is a problem halved'. Good Luck

I also am getting error 2123. I'm using a netgear Universal WiFi internet adapter to connect my new KDL-40EX713 TV to a Sky [netgear] router.

The router can see the adapter, the TV menu says the line is OK etc but the internet connection is not made.

I am now going to upgrade the TV & adapter firmware & try again. If that fails what is my next step?

Mmmmmm.

Was thinking of changing ISP from cable and changing router from Belkin, but as you are having same problems on Sky with Netgear it looks like I may be wasting my time.

Think I will reject my "faulty " TV and replace with Panasonic or some other make. Sorry Tesco Direct, Pity the TV is not as good as your service.
