Connecting Mac G4 Cube to Bravia via VGA

Hi everybody!

Looking for some advice on connecting a Mac G4 Cube (running OSX 10.4) to my Bravia KDL-40HX.

I've connected the two with a VGA cable but nothing's happening? The PC icon is greyed out.

(I can't really tell what the Mac thinks as I don't have a separate screen I can hook it up to.)

The Mac only has VGA and ADC ports for monitors so i can't try HDMI

Any suggestions please - everything else I've hooked up so far has been great but I'd really like to use the Mac to run music/photos/videos on the Bravia

Any help greatly appreciated

PS: After reading the forums I know I'll need an extra cable for audio but I can't imagine thats whats stopping it showing up at all?

My best guess would be that the output resolution of your Mac is different to one of the the preset resolutions of your Bravia, as such it is unable to pick it up or display it.

If this is the right tree to be barking up, you would have to set your Mac to output something like 1920×1080 or 1280x720.  I guess you may need to hook it up to a monitor in order to change these settings.

Very much off the cuff but hopefully sets you in the right direction.

Best regards
