DVD player not able to grab TV picture

Help I've a Sony KDL26EX320BU - Dec 2011 brillaint 26 in TV

BUT when i turn on or off the external DVD player connected to HDMI 1 it does NOR take control of the TV screen. I have to manually use the TV remote.

I've never had this problem with a TV before.

If ther is a setting I need to configure let me know

Hi,

not sure if your tv supports this but try it,

go to menu- external inputs- scroll to HDMI set up, then turn HDMI control to on, check in HDMI device list for your player and enable, that should cover it.
