How to turn off the fuzzy screen and noise?

I have decided not to bother with the built in tv tuner on the Sony w8550A as I am currently using Youview which has recording facility.

When the TV first gets switched on Is there any way I can switch off the fuzzy screen (black/white screen) with the noise? The sound/picture does switch to a blank screen after a sec. However, i would prefer it went straight to the blank screen.

It seems like it is trying to show analogue channels, maybe you can try to setup the digital channels only (even if disconnected from the aerial it should tune nothing...) in the initialization procedure
