HT-NT3 Sound bar

I have recently bought a HT-NT3 sound bar to go with my Sony 3D 55" curved TV,however when I use the volume control on the remote for the sound bar the volume on the tv adjusts as well.

Is this normal?? 

Or is there a way to alter the volume separately on both units??

Thanks for the replying I will try that I have got another HDMI lead I can try

no I didn't change any settings but I did buy a to box that is plugged in & working 

i will let you know how I get on

Probably a typo, but if we knew what it was meant to be, this might help.

And if 'to' is a typo for 'TV' we will need a little more still....

Sorry I meant tv box that's predictive text 

I have unplugged the tv box & now the sound bar is working again!! Wierd

I  have similar problem but my sound bar has a fibre optic cable link. How do you get the tv remote to control the sound bar volume and also switch the sound bar on. I have to use the sound bar remote to control the sound bar
