Only just got this tv not too impressed so far, the problem, once the tv has been tuned all is ok, channels are where they are supposed to be. For no reason some channels drop into other positions or I simply get the message re-tune and check antenna. For example BBC1 position after re-tune is 001 once switched off and on it reappears as 801. This is happening with ITV and ITV3 also. I have done factory/default reset a few times now still the same. If anyone as got any idea on how to solve it would be much appreciated. Failing that, its gone.

You're Welcome.

The consequence of disabling the Auto Service Update is that the TV will not do any scanning of channels over night.  So periodically you may need to do a scan to see if there are new ones etc.

Hi there

This issue is a reception issue as your aerial is picking up multiple transmitters.  At the time of the scan of channels, the strongest signal is placed in the 001 (for BBC1) and any 'weaker signals' for duplicate channels is placed in the 800 range.  The problem becomes that sometimes that strongest initial signal can turn to weakest due to atmospheric conditions and hence the channels in the 800 range is now the strongest.

A couple of links:

So what can you do - other than getting an aerial technician to look at your aerial or purchasing an aerial attenuator (see link 1 above), you can manually tune in your TV - see HERE for instructions on how to do so.  Once done, you will need to disable "Auto Services Update" in the digital setup menu of the TVs settings.

Cheers

Many thanks for your quick reply, yes, you are correct after further checks the regions I was being offered were, Lincolnshire & South Yorks and England my region is East Midlands so after a few channel shuffles all is good. I have taken your advice and disabled Auto Updates.

Its still a bit annoying though,  my other two Sony TV,s offer me East Midlands Region. So I'm a little reluctant to start doing anything with the antenna.

once again many thanks for your input.
