Netflix not working

I have just purchased a new Sony KDL-46W905A today.  I cannot get the Netflix app to connect.  I click on app and it gives me error NW4-8.  I have been in contact with Netflix and they can't even sort it.  Internet is fine - just can't connect to Netflix servers.  Has anyone any ideas it's driving me nuts

Apparently it does on a 4 month old one.

Not too sure on meet models that seems to be the issue with all the
others. The guy here has a46 which works but a 55 where it doesn't

Hi

As these devices all run the same firmware ( as per below link, you can see the one file applies to all these TV's) and it appears the last firmware was released to specifically address Netflix issues.

Thanks

Few months - shouldn't make any difference though as they are all running the same software via the update..

Hi

I have a 24" Sony Bravia KDL24W605 brought last week from John Lewis with excaclty the same problem, everthing works apart from Netfix. I have read every post and tried all the fixes, with no joy.

Two other devices with Netflix work perfeclty in the same house.

Ditto... I got the same model and asked saleman to be sure it had Netflix capability, he showed me in the store so I was totally hacked off when I got it delivered last saturday and spent the day tryign to sort it so NO is the answer, my model is identical to yours and does not allow netflix to work either .  I hear your pain!

I have the same problem on my brand new kdl46w905. I sent Sony an email of complaint and I haven't had even an acknowledgment of receipt from them. Being an English lawyer, specialising in commercial litigation, I am very familiar with consumer rights and Sony have clearly breached them here. You cannot market a product as having a certain feature when in reality that feature does not work. Clear case of breach of contract and misrepresentation. I cannot believe I spent almost £1000 on this tv and it doesn't even do what it says on the box! If Sony doesn't fix this soon, they could face a large consumer rights campaign against them.

Same here, just rang Netflix after reboot and error code nw-4-8
And trying asked me to contact Sony, they say that it's a known issue and given me a case number and someone will contact me in next 48 hours.

I have the same error code, nw-4-8, on my new 46W905 bought from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago. Tried resetting to factory defaults, power cycling router etc., I gave the latest firmware, all to no avail, despite Sony emailing me these suggestions to fix it. I emailed back to say I'm very disappointed in the Sony brand, this being my first experience of a Sony TV (and possibly last), and that I'm considering returning the product to the retailer.

In their response to that, Sony chose to ignore my comment about returning the TV, instead apologising and asking that I be patient as their is a known 'server issue' with Netflix for which they have no resolution timeframe.

The implication was that it's a Netflix issue, but I can't really believe that myself. Back to using Netflix through my Bluray player for now. Extremely let down by Sony.

My TV has a manufacture date of March 2014, for what it's worth.

well email of netflix this morning not about this issue only to inform me because im a loyal customer that my price is staying the same @£5.99 for the next 2 years but if you are a new customer it is going up to £6.99  honest to god the cheek of them !!!! sort your issues out with Sony first !!!!!
