"Last view" button on Sony TV's?

Hi there,

I've got a new Sony KDL-40NX705 and although I am generally pleased with the quality of the picture and its features, I really, really, really miss a "last view"-button as is common with most of the other TV-brands.

I know the Sony has a favourites menu, but I find it to be rather sluggish/slow to start up and I also noticed that it doesn't always list the last viewed channels correctly.

Just a simple button-click to swap back to the last viewed channel is what I am looking for, not a "click - then wait a couple of seconds for the favourite menu to load completly -  then click once or more to scroll sidewards do the last viewed channels - then click again to scroll backwards to the desired channels - then click again to switch to the desired channel"-marathon.

Whoever turned something as simple as callling up the last viewed channel into such a tiresome routine? :smileysilly:Honestly, if I had known about this before I bought the TV, I might have chosen another brand.

Did I miss something and just can't find this button on the remote, or is there a way to programm the TV to do what I want? Or will there be a software upgrade that will implement this basic and much used feature? (best toghether with a much needed update so that divX-files and mov-files can be played)

Hi, All Bravia TV's have this function, however to improve functions on the remote, something has to come off to make room, you could purchase an alternative TV remote or a univeral remote.

Thanks for the Answers,

I do have a Logitech Harmony, which I used with my old TV. Usually the Universal-remote has to be programmed with the help of the original remote.

How can I program the universal-remote to use the "Last view" function, if the original remote does not have this feature? I also wouldn't mind to re-program a button on the Sony remote, if that option would exist.

Crazy thing is if I use my old Bravia remote from my 2005 TV my 2011 Bravia responds to the last channel command.

Seriously Sony, in Freeview mode the Return button doesn't do anything, perfect button for the last channel recall. I think it be sad if people have to purchase universal remotes just to get that function back.
