Adobe Acrobat Standard not working on Vaio FZ21Z

Hi all, I'm new here as I've only just got my Vaio.
I've tried to get adobe acrobat standard working, but it won't convert word files to PDF. It came up with an error saying something like 'PDFmaker files aren't available', now it doesn't come up with that error but one saying that 'PDF cnversion process failed, please correct the error and retry.', follwed by another error saying that the document couldn't be opened due to the file being not supported or corrupt.
I've reinstalled it from the vaio recovery centre and it's still not working....Is this to do with adobe or the file that I'm trying to convert? (I'm using word 2007)
Thanks!

I think require the installation of the Acrobat 8.1 update to work with PDFMaker.
Acrobat 8.0 and earlier will not support Office 2007 or Office 2007 files.

Thanks, that did the trick! Was a bit silly of me to not think of that I guess, lol.
