Automatic VAIO update

Could someone post me the link to the automated VAIO update site?

I clicked on an automatic update that was displayed in my system tray and it installed VAIO update 3.0. After a requested reboot the ususal link in my All Programs menu was gone and I can only access the manual update site.

Could someone help me? The manual site is very inconvenient as it doesn't let me know what has already been installed and what hasn't.

Hi vidanes and welcome to Club Vaio.

Has it installed the folder C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Update3 ?

If so the shortcut is

C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Update 3\VAIOUpdt.exe /showpage

Hi vidanes,

Welcome to Club vaio,

After you restarted your Vaio did the Vaio Update Installer run again...?

 Evening Blencogo..

Hi there,

first of all, many thanks for your kind answers.

The installation did not create a C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Update3 folder.

After I restarted the computer, the Vaio Update Installer did not run again.

What can I do in order to fix this problem?

Not at the moment. I hope someone can give me a link in order to reinstall the VAIO Update 3.0 tool.

Same problem for me.

However, I did notice an Internet Explorer page from VAIO Update advising:

VAIO Update failed to initialise for one or more of the following reasons:

* You are not using Internet Explorer.
* ActiveX have been disabled or the VAIO Update ActiveX is not installed on your computer.
* You didn't start VAIO Update using the icon in the system tray or via Start -> All Programs -> VAIO Update -> Go to VAIO Web Support.
* You tried to install VAIO Update on a computer that does not support it.

---------------

Admittedly I didn't have ActiveX enabled (have recently upgraded to IE7 and not had chance to configure it as yet). And no I didn't start by using the VAIO Update in All Programs (as it wasn't there). Turning on ActiveX made no difference.

The link that automatically went to this page was:

Hi,

Fixed it.

Looked in the C:\Update folder (where Sony put most of the files we update) and found a folder SOAVUD-01373802-UN (dated yesterday - when I tried to update to VAIO Update 3.0).

Anyway, ran the SOAVUD-01373802-UN.exe file and now have VAIO Update 3.0 installed with the associated icon in the system tray and the relevant folder in the All Programs.

Now waiting 3 hours or so for the download to complete....
