Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Sony have a utility that tests the battery to check it is healthy? This is my first Vaio and my only bugbear with it is that I get about 40 mins battery life.
My old HP Omnibook had a piece of software which fully discharged the battery, recharged it again and tested it to ensure it was working optimally. It was recommended to run every 6 months or so.
Is there anything like this for my Vaio?
Cheers,
Jim
hello,
In the control panel-> power and Maintenance -> power scheme you can optimise your power performance

There's nothing that does what you're looking after, but I don't think batteries really have a 'memory' as such anymore, not the good ones anyway. I found a test that was part of some software (sorry I forget which) that tested my battery for health and it came out at 100% healthy after 6 months, and I don't look after it whatsoever. Batteries are pretty good for that nowadays (Or so I read, but you know what they say about what you read on the internet :smileywink:)
No, batteries these days don't have memory
