was just wondering about the profile version for the blu-ray player in my vaio....and if when newer profiles come out it can be updated to that?....or are the profiles software controlled, hence updated version of Windvd/powerdvd
From what I understand this is controlled by the firmware and software. I have no idea if Sony will upgrade the hardware and when, but I know that the new Profile 2.0 is due around Q4 of 2008 and will be part of the new PS3 system update.
