Can't type without holding down Fn key

I was typing away normally and then looked at what i typed and it was gibberish and the num lk light was on. i don't know what i did to put the light on, but it won't go off.

I've tried pressing num lk and tried alt and num lk and also Fn and num lk but the light will not go off and i can't type properly unless I hold down the Fn key.

i am not aware of any other keyboard shortcuts for the num lk so am a bit stuck.

Anybody know something that can help me?

Please disregard. It was an Ubuntu package update at fault.
