It is when I put a CD into the drive, it makes a very loud whirring sound, like it is reverberating. I can also feel the vibration quite strongly on the rest of the laptop as the disc spins. It concersn me because this is a brand new computer.
Weight of medias isn't always well centered. Result is vibration. (a brandnew CD-R should never vibrate)
Did you ever rent a DVD or CD? These Stickers on them pruduce killer vibrations on every drive. (particularly at 52x speed) You just can slowdown spinning speed to solve the problem. Nero DriveSpeed should do the job.
