CD / DVD writing

Hi All, i have a VGc-v2s, recently i have encountered a problem with regards to burning DVD's. the pc will go through all the right motions, but when it gets to the end of the program (Sonic or Roxio Media) it comes up with the message that there has been a problem in reording the disc. i have tried different discs and even different manufacturers but it still doesnt work. i used to be able to burn discs with no problem at all, but now it appears that i can only record to CD's. can anyone help please - would it seem that the drive has had it?

I'm afraid you probably have the infamous Sony DW-D56A optical drive in your V2S.
