Desktop Bios Update

Hello,
I have a six month old Sony PCV RS 504 Desktop. In the download section of the Vaio-Link site a Bios update is offered and my computer is in the list of compatible machines.
However, in the notes refering to the download it specifies that this update should only be applied to the Notebook computers listed. As I am aware that bios updates applied wrongly can wreck your machine I wrote to Sony asking for clarification.
To the best of my knowlege they ignored this.
I feel that they may think that I am splitting hairs, but Desktops are not Notebooks, or are they?.

Only do the update if you have problems with the PC

As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
Unless you're an updateholic like me, don't update your BIOS until the update cures a problem you actually have.
