Disk read error

My new PCG 691M has just reported a "disk read error" on start up. The recovery disk failed also, with a disk error. Now all I get is a "Error loading operating system" Machine has had no more than 24 hours use and not been droped or damaged. Has anyone any ideas please.

Take it to your retailer, the hard disk is bad.

Same thing with my brand new A297XP. I've had it for 5 days. It booted ok the first 4 times, now I get a disk error....
