Downgrade to Windows 7

Hi all

I've just purchased a new vaio laptop with windows 8 professional. It arrived this morning and I find it incomprehensible, I just can't get used to the operating system. I would very much like to downgrade to windows 7 but I'm unsure how to do it. If anyone could advise me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Which Vaio product model have you bought?

Sony do provide Windows 7 drivers for models that do not have a touchscreen but you will need to buy a retail copy of Windows 7 to install.

Think carefully though as not everything may work as expected - it may be worth giving Windows 8 a reasonable chance.  After all, if you by-pass the new Metro interface screen, it is very similar underneath.
