DVD burner for GR214MP?

Hi,

Purchased my Vaio PCG-GR214MP notebook back in 2001 and to this day extremely happy with this product. The notebook has a standard DVD / CD-RW combodrive unit.

Does anyone know if the combo unit can be replaced with a DVD -RW / CD-RW unit.

I consider it a pity that SONY does not provide more support in respect of hardware extras. Surely, there must be a market for this or is Sony only interested in selling new units?

It would be a heck of a lot cheaper to buy a firewire enclosure and a IDE DVD burner.
