Hi all, this is my first post so please be patient...
I've had my PCV-RX201 for almost 3 yrs now and until now all has been fine. Today however the DVD drive won't play any dvd's.
I get error messages "Key Exchange for DVD Copy Protection Failed" or "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occure with Digital Copyright Protection".
Until now the DVD's have played fine. They're all pre-recorded, Region 2 movies.
The Microsoft help merely says i should reinstall the codec, but i have no idea what it is called or where to find it.
Can anyone help?
J
What disk is it, as some Disney DVDs have caused havoc with WMP
Well the two that have been tried today are
Two Pints of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps (BBC DVD) and
Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Universal).
The drive still plays CD, just refuses to now play DVD.
:o(
Hey thanks for reminding me, it's on at 10pm!
Right, well, I think you should try a DVD lens cleaner before we can say it's totally dead.
Try using VLC to play your DVDs
All of the codecs it uses are built-in and if it works then you can be sure that your drive is OK.
