[FE21H] Slow HardDisk

Dear Vaio Users

I have a problem with my Vaio Notebook HardDisk.

I noticed it's very slowing when copying files or unpacking .rar archives
Here are the results of some HD tests:

Any idea what's wrong here? Is this HD broken? What can I do?

My notebook is still in waranty.

Test 1 : DISKSPEED (C) Alexander Grigoriev

Test 2 : Performance Test 6.1 - Passmark Advanced Disk Test

Test 3 : The Windows Experience Index

Thanks for your help!

Hi VinTie,

Have you checked that DMA (Direct Memory Access) is enabled?

Go to Device Manager and expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
Double-click on Primary IDE Channel.
In Advanced Settings check that 'DMA if Available' is selected for both Devices and check that a DMA Mode is in the 'Current Transfer Mode' box.
If not go back and right-click on your Primary IDE Channel and choose Uninstall.
Reboot and check the Current Transfer Modes.

Looks OK VinTie,

Looks like DMA is enabled OK.

I'll sleep on it but nothing else comes to mind immediately.
