unfortunately the vaio doesn't really have a mindless cult surrounding it (looking in ipod's direction :smileygrin: ) so i don't know if there will be that many vaio owners willing to experiment with stuff like linux or just hacking the normal firmware.... i had a look around and it seems like we can't even see the real system files of the vaio... the VAIO_SYSTEM folder that we can see through explorer only has simple types of log and song info files generated from inside... i guess the real 'brains' are in the ram memory or something like that..... but i wish somebody could hack the vaio properly!:smileyhappy:

U can see much more if u use (as me) a KNOPPIX startup cd and than open the PocketVaio.
Give it a try...

@nemo
the problem is that i'm not at my regular computer.... and won't be until early january... i don't even have the possibility to burn cds let alone a virtual drive for iso's on here....
have you tried looking at the files with a hexeditor?

Nope, sorry, i don´t have right now the time for that.
Also i just tried the Knoppix because it was on a CD from CT-Magazine...i really don´t have the abilities yet to use LINUX so good for this task.
I just was curiouse to see how the Vaio acts under Knoppix.
It was discovered as removable drive (or media)
Mabye somebody else here has the knowledge to do more in this direction.
