A few days ago I Bought a VaioPocket (Europe Version of 40GB)

But now I have a big Problem : I Can't transfer any music to the player.
When I want to transfer my mp3 "Album" in sonic stage sometimes the
message : "cannot convert the specified track. Sonic Stage does not
support the file format of the track......(list of tracks)..." comes
and sometimes the message "The tracks cannot be transferred to the
device/media. The remaining transfer count is zero".

When I use Vaio music transfer, the message " An error occured while
conversion. Unknown error occured." comes.

So My player is still blank.
I installed all updates for XP...still doesn't work

Do You think the new Firmware will resolve this problem?
Or do you have an ideea what the problem could be?

Seems like a problem with SonicStage, not with the PocketVaio itself!
Maybe also a USB problem.
Hard to tell without knowing more about ur configuration, but i exclude a PV problem by 99%.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my vaio pocket (20GB); First of all, is your version of sonic stage the one installed from the boxed CD? If no, then the other sonicstage version that will support Vaio pocket (SonicStage 2.3), can be gotten here:

http://www.connect-europe.com/sonicstagehttp://www.connect-europe.com/sonicstage

Also, you may need the Sony Audio Convertor tool.. that may be obtained here:

ftp://ftp.ita.sel.sony.com/ccpg/portable/SMFCUSETUP09152.EXEftp://ftp.ita.sel.sony.com/ccpg/portable/SMFCUSETUP09152.EXE

If it still doesn't convert the files, then just keep using sonic stage, mine took about 3 days to tell me my library database was "corrupt"! it then prompted me on instructions on how to restart my PC and repair the database, after which it became happy and converted over 85% of my library at once and each time thereafter, it detects new files and converts..

Anyone else with a problem converting their mp3 library? my files are shared over a network but I don't think that matters..

I had this problem.

This has nothing to do with the sonic stage version

I sonic stage 2.1 i simply clicked on the tools tab at the top and then clicked 'back up my library'

This takes about 30 mins, but after that all tracks should work

hope this is of some help
