how is it possible to get the latest version of X700 ATI driver, because vaio update doesn't propose it and it is the only way to upadte my vaio VGN BX197XP ? thanks rgds
Set a restore point and install the ATI catalyst from the ATI website and if it works then great but if it stuffs up the graphic card whatever restore it to the point you set. I have installed the ATI catalyst without a problem which includs the X700 in the bundle.
Is your X700 the Mobility version? AMD have bought out ATI and are trying to offer Catalyst drivers for Mobility chipsets but good luck finding it on their site!
There is however a way to install the normal Catalyst drivers. You'll need to download them from here and then download the ModTool from here. It's very easy to do and worked wonders on my old Mobility 7500 (got the torch in HL2 working after 3 years of being in the dark!) but I advise you to print and read the instructions before you start.
