Has SONY killed off VAIO?

I heard from a friend who loves his overpriced underpowered apple device that VAIO is dead. For years now my VAIOS have been trashing his devices but it seems he now has the last laugh.

so, i came on to the SONY site to see if it is true but there seems to be nothing. No outrage, no sadness, nothing???

Is it just an evil rumour then?

Thats a damned shame. The coolest laptop in the world wiped out. I shall be ordering a new one before it is too late. I feel sorry for the workers who will be losing their jobs in this economic climate. terrible news.
