HDMI Video output problems

Hi,

I have a VGN-AR71M which was recently upgraded to Windows 7(64bit). Wether by co-incidence or not, I,ve discovered that the HDMI and standard monitor jacks no longer output. i've tried using both a TV and an addittional monitor and both display "No Signal Output". from these sources. If I go to SETTINGS and DISPLAY there seems to be nothing which suggests I can make changes (as one would with SETTINGS SOUNDS if you had a problem there)

Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Ken

Hi Ken,

As your model was released with a 32-bit OS I assume that you carried out a clean install rather than an in place upgrade?

What graphics driver is installed, not a Sony provided driver I assume as non are listed in Support for 64-bit.

You may find, in Device Manager, that there is a standard VGA graphics adaptor listed as opposed to the NVIDIA adaptor. If so you will need to update the driver with one from NVIDIA but you will need a modified INF file in order for the system to accept it.

Have a look at the following links:

hey

1st thing you should try is upgrading your graphics card online. Check if your card is 64bit compatible. If no joy you can get hd out of ur usb's using a converter. It sounds like you need to upgrade you graphics card..

hope this helps...good luck
