Help a lady out??

Morning all,

So I have been using my Sony Vaio for about a year and a half. Up untill a month ago I have been very happy with how it runs and really enjoyed my product. Unfortunatly the last few weeks, the whole thing has just become so sluggish. Simple regularly used programmes now freeze, lock up or lag, the start up sometimes grinds to a halt,  even typing on a word document enjoys an unhealthy dose of lag.

I have tried all sorts, CCleaner, virus scan, cleaned up the system start up so only the essentials run, deleted large files, tried anti spyware software, checked for windows updates which also seems to be effected - only some of the downloads will initiate, the others just sit on 0%. Nothing seems to work,

Has anybody got any ideas on solutions? I have pasted my system information below if that means anything

Thank you

Alison

I always try to help a damsel in distress.
Have you tried to restore your PC to an earlier point in time?
These are the steps taken from the Microsoft site. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc#

To restore your PC to an earlier point in time

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the top-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, then click Search.)

Enter Control Panel in the search box, then tap or click Control Panel.

Enter Recovery in the Control Panel search box, then tap or click Recovery.

Tap or click Open System Restore, then follow the instructions.

Why thank you

I have considered this option but will this not cause me to lose all my work etc for the last few weeks? I use my laptop for work and would not be a happy bunny if I lost everything 😞

Thank you
