I think you'll need raid on.

Kee-Lo is spot on! (as usual)

You do not have a single 320GB drive - you have 2 X 160GB drives. The Default set is 'Striped RAID 0' - data is split between the two discs to give very fast recovery times.

You can turn RAID off so that the two discs operate sepatately but you will need to load the original factory drivers for the two drives or you will get the error messages above.

If you really want to turn RAID 0 off, you can reload the original drivers from your Recovery Disc. Boot up with the Recovery Disc already inserted and at the first screen choose "Change RAID". A wizard will take you through the process.

Thank you for all your answers ..

Bu as i ve said in my first question, i have formated and re install
with the recovery cd witch one i have burned from (c:)
and used the raid configurator to use the two discs separately (thats what i called raid off) .
Now i have this xp home installed with both hard drives 160Go + 160 Go.

I restart with my xp pro cd and after enter and F8 i have

no disc four time........????????????

Hello.
Thanks a lot but.
I have reinstalled with raid 0 .
After restarting with xp pro cd i have still the same message.
No disk installed. Four time !!!

Does it came from the bios???

Beccause Raid 0 on or Raid off The both discs are recognised as one disk in bios!! And i dont have acces to them.

The problem is I don't think the BIOS will allow you to control the RAID as Sony lock it

Oki.
So it's okay.
I undertand that my first problem was that i had a xp pro version one
witch doesnt contain RAID drivers .(they're present in xp pro that have the service pack 2 integrated).
So i found a folder on my vaio called Driver.
In this folder you will find under raid folder the Raid drivers witch ones have to be copy on a floppy .........you will find the instruction on a text file in the folder DRIVER/RAID....

So i finaly have install my Xp pro.
Thanks to all for your help.
Ps: i have now other troubles but thats another SONY a......story..:-)
