How to switch on my laptop DVD DMA?

I am using A397XP vaio. At this moment, when I use Nero to write DVD, it is very very slow. It takes aournd 1 hour to write one DVD. When I check the systems information, I found that my SONY DVD RW DW-056A DMA is off. Could you tell me how to open DMA of this DVD? Thank you!

Take a look at the Windows Device Manager.
Your DVD drive is on the second IDE channel. Make sure that DMA is enable. On mine it runs on DMA mode 2.

LOL i neet 50 minutes for writing a DVD in 1x speed.

:smileygrin: But I need around 60 minutes for writing DVD in 4x speeds. Thank you so much for your help. I have solved that problems. At this moment, it just takes about 16 minutes to write one DVD in 4x speeds.
