HUGE GRAPHIC CARD DRIVER PROBLEM

Hi

I have a VAIO laptop:

Series number: 27542764 5001369

Product name: VPCSB1X9E

The problem is, I accidentally uninstalled all graphic card drivers and now I'm stuck with the Standard VGA Graphic Adapter. I want to be able to use the graphic card i have on-board again.

*Update: My graphic card (AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series, finally appears on the device manager. I tried using VAIO CARE again, the list of drivers managed to load this time and i selected to reinstall the AMD graphic driver but it gets stuck in 35% or 41% for more than an hour so i just terminate the task.

On my device manager, in the display adapters there are 2 options (AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series (the one i want to use) and Standard VGA Graphic Adapter) I tried disabling the VGA one so I end up using the other one but once i restart it it tells me this:"No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not funcitoning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropiately for your AMD hardware". I already tried updating the driver software for the AMD graphics card by right clicking it on the Device Manager, but it didn't work. Everytime i restart my laptop after supposedly installing the updated driver software the same message appears.

This model uses a Hybrid AMD/Intel Graphics driver which allows switching between the AMD and Intel Graphics when using Windows 7 64-bit. To select the AMD Graphics, select 'Speed' as the graphics mode.

You will find this Hybrid Driver on the downloads page for your model:-

Are you using Windows 7 Pro or have you upgraded to another version of Windows?

iHey,

I'm still using the windows 7 pro haha and btw i managed to upgrade the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter to the Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 through a windows update.

So I'm assuming the AMD card is better no? It is now on "Speed" but I'm still using the Intel card (checked through dxdiag) because the AMD card is currently unresponsive. Would it start being available if i download the hybrid driver you suggested me? If not what else could i do?

*side question: How can i fix FPS drops from happening in a game when they didn't use to happen before? (Kind of the reason I got into this whole mess.)

You are probably dropping frames because the Intel Graphics are very much inferior to the AMD Graphics. The Intel Graphics are useless for any sort of gamneplay.

I would download and install the Hybrid Driver.

No, yeah, but I was suffering from FPS drops even when I was using the AMD graphics card. So I was wondering why i had FPS drops while using the AMD graphics card while playing when before I used to have none.

I'll try downloading the hybrid driver and see if the AMD graphics card becomes available and functional.

Okay, I downloaded the graphics driver from the link you sent me and followed all of the steps, but nothing happened when I restarted my laptop. No error or success was displayed when I restarted the laptop. I just know that when I switch between 'STAMINA' and 'SPEED' still nothing happens. In both cases the graphics card used is the Intel HD graphics 3000. Is there anyway I can activate the AMD Radeon graphics card when I switch to SPEED how it used to be when I first bought it?

Both graphics cards appear in Display Adapters in the Device Manager. No matter what I do the AMD Radeon graphic card is still unresponsive (i tried downloading the driver from the link you sent me as an administrator, and followed all of the steps). Should uninstall the AMD graphics card from the Device Manager and try downloading the driver again? In any case, what else can I do? Do you need any more info about my situation or maybe a screenshot to help me further? I just don't know what else to do to make the AMD graphics card to work again.

Unfortunately, I do not know what else to suggest.

Did you set the Vaio to 'SPEED' mode before installing the hybrid driver? I believe it can only be installed in speed mode.

Did you uninstall any other drivers or Sony Utility programs?

As I'm sure you have guessed, I have never needed to reinstall a hybrid driver.

Yes, I did set the VAIO to SPEED before reinstalling.

Okay, let me give you a little bit of backstory as to how this happened. I tried updating my AMD driver from the AMD website (big mistake), it ended up being worse. So, I immediately went to control panel and uninstalled the latest thing that had been installed to go back to how it was before. When I tried to uninstall it, it told me if i wanted to uninstall all versions (by mistake i pressed yes) after that the AMD graphic didn't go to how it was before, it stopped working altogether. (I believe the program named I uninstalled might have started with Microsoft Visual C++) I say this because now, I went to sonyvaiodriver.com, searched my laptop's preinstalled graphic driver. Everything was going well until the installation failed. I pressed view logs and got this. Error logs.jpg

I can send more screenshots if you need it to help me solve my problem.
