At the moment im happy with what i got that is WXP SP1, but i wanna make sure that im not missing any thing with SP2.
If i do install it what would happen to the computer?
What stages do i have to do?
What i lose any work?
Would this effect my sony Vaio PCV - RS502 drivers?
Thanks for your help.

Some people have had the odd problem upgrading buton the whole it is ok to do.
You will benefit from added security - it has a windows firewall and deals with other security issues.
If all goes wrong with the update you can always delete it and recover using the recovery utility.
It's an security update. And it use a lot of resources. The RAM usage of my VAIO is nearly the double than before.
Nothing radically new Paul, just security updates, hot fixes etc.
Make sure you backup everything that is vital then do the update
I can not go thow with that! i stick with Service pack 1!
Wouldn't Recommend if you are using an AMD64-based processor in a hardware configuration that requires the mpegport.sys file/driver to be loaded, but there is a solution to that too.
Worth a try on an Intel-based Windows XP machine
You can request a SP2 CD from Microsoft for free, for faster instalation Also pretty easy to Uninstall from the System Root $ntservicepackuninstall$
or add/remove programs
Prgrams installed after sp2 may be affected if you uninstall SP2 afterwards
Yeah ur right becasue my mate has a AMD prosseser. and he has so much trouble with hes drivers and Speed example; Starting up windows and closing down windows!
and thats a Packard Bell!
