i have a sony vaio pcg-v505dp laptop....i decided to buy this and replace my old pcggrx500 because of the heat building up on the base of the former. But it seems that i get the same problem with this new Pentium M processor even if its not connected to the ac adapter. I read some fora that pentium m doesnt heat up...do u guys have any clue on this? thanks
All processors will get hot to some extent, it's whether or not it's a damaging temperature that counts. Download this program and run it when you think your computer is too hot. If the CPU temperature is 65 degrees or so then you are well into the safe zone, it's not worrying unless it's over 70.
As TT says, check the tempreture.
If it's > 65 degrees you need to clean the vents and fans.
