Hi there,

Can anyone help me by either by telling me if the above notebook should have an inbuilt microphone for use on internet telephony or not?

Do I need to by an external mirophone?

From the best of my knowledge you need an external microphone because no VAIO has an internal microphone...

Plenty of webcams have inbuilt microphones, or bluetooth ones are a reasonable price nowadays (but your laptop doesnt have bluetooth built in im fairly sure). Built in ones usually aren't great quality, its not something I would be sorry about.

It's best to use a different mic anyway, the sound from webcams is poor.

Cheers for thr info people, I am trying to use Skype you see and obviously I cannot as no one can hear me without a microphone.
