My Brand new VAIO just got delivered VCPEJ

However when I turn it on nothing happens at all I am met with a white screen of death. Any suggestions

It doesn't sound right!

Do you see the Vaio Logo screen for a few seconds?

What lights come on?  What can you hear?

You have got the mains AC adapter connected and turned on?

Any other info would be good.

No Vaio Logo the hard disk flashes orange and for a few minutes there is a  very quiet sound that makes it sound like the laptop is doing something. Then it stops. Wireless light comes on.

I waited for ages as I thought maybe I was being too impatient but eventually gave up. Called Sony Support. They are sending somebody to pick it up for repair. A little disappointing I must admit.
