Need information about soundcard of a Sony Vaio 21s

I just got my new laptop and noticed that I will not be able to connect my old headset to it (medusa 5.1).
Now I am looking to buy a new one, but I am unable to get any information about my soundcard.
I know that it is onboard and that it is produced by SigmaTel. My guess would be that it is the STAC9200 chip. So I wonder is this chip any good ? Does it support EAX and A3D ?
As a headset I decided to go for a Sennheiser. Now I am wondering wether to go for a PC 165 ( iUSB and has an integrated soundcard that supports both standarts) or the cheaper PC 160 which is physically the same headset without a soundcard.

Could someone provide any advise?

Hi and welcome to ClubVAIO.

The specifications for the FE21S say you have the Sigmatel CXD9872 High Definition Audio Codec.

I can't find this on the Sigmatel site - it's probably a Sony OEM version.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
