outputs from VAIO PCV-V1 desktops

I want to connect the PC to TV and/ or hi-fi.
All of the ports are designated as inputs, except the I-Link
I was advised at the Sony shop that this was possible

I already have scart to rca leads. If I connect these to a TV, giga pocket/ tv tuner dies
I have not tried connecting to hi-fi yet

Any one got any bright ideas Sony Sipport say there are no outputs

Hopefully wishing for good news

Sony Support is correct - they are all inputs. The only output is the headphone socket - you could use this to connect to your hi-fi.

Connected my V1 to my HIFI amp using a 3.5mm jack plug to RCA lead.

Not too impressed with the sound signal output from the Vaio had to put the amps volume up to 2 to 3 times normal volume.

The sound was still fantastic. Would it be down to the length of the cable used which caused the signal strength to drop. Cable I used was 5 meters long. I really need to add 5 more meters so I can run the cable round the skirting board. Will this cause a further drop in signal strength.

Make sure you have all of the volume controls turned up on the V1. An extra 5M or so of cable shouldn't cause any noticable drop in the signal.

5m is acceptable.
