PCG-SRX41P Loose scren

Header says it all - my 3y old laptop's screen is getting looser.

Any diy tips on tightening/relpacing?

(PS Why no search function on this forum?)

Apparently there are screws under that plastic thing which you can tighten.

I wish they'd get a move on with search too...

The plastic where the actual hinge is, where it turns 90 degrees to close.

Sorry to be dense, but I've not done mch with this machine - how do you get access to taking off the plastic covers? Is it a matter of dis-assembling the whole thing (the ~8 philips screws underneath, etc.) , or is it enough to undo the small torx screws under the rubber "feet" and take off the "legs"?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you have to take off the speaker grill off first, the screws are on the side.

I think you may be thinking of a different model. The srx41p has 2 tiny speakers in front (nearer the typer) of the keyboard. No screws at the side ....

Have a look at this site - you will have to register but this is free. I believe the nearest model to yours is the PCG-SR27, the manual should give you enough information to be able to disassemble your notebook so that you can examine the hinge assembly and see whether it is adjustable.

Thanks - I'll give it a shot.
